Following in the same, green-themed vein as the rest of the expansion pack, the Civil Designer career in The Sims 4: Eco Lifestyle offers one of the most hands-on ways to get involved with your community yet, seeking to improve and cleanse it in both branches of the career.
Choose between Civic Planning, redesigning the city and its energy consumption, or Green Technician, creating and crafting all sorts of eco-friendly gadgets, and make a difference in your neighborhood! In our guide, we’ve got everything you’ll need to excel in both branches of the Civil Designer career in The Sims 4.
Civil Designer Career Overview
Improve The Town As A Civic Planner Or Green Technician
When it comes to The Sims 4: Eco Lifestyle, the central theme of the pack and, even larger, Evergreen Harbor – the world plagued with various levels of pollution that came with the pack – is all about keeping things clean and green.
And to do that, your Sim can become a Civil Designer, seeking to help renovate, improve, and clean up the neighborhood directly through your green-centric work.
Sims can do this in one of two career paths for the Civil Design career, which are:
- Civic Planners take direct action in their communities by working closely with its people to renovate the town for a cleaner tomorrow.
- Since they spend their time with their neighbors to come up with solutions, Civic Planners need to work on their Charisma and Logic skills.
- Green Technicians, on the other hand, seek to improve on what’s already here, reusing and upcycling goods to combat pollution from the ground up.
- Requiring both the brains to invent something and the skill to make it, Green Technicians will build their Fabrication and Logic skills.
Thankfully, this career splits pretty early, allowing you to choose a specialty beginning immediately upon promotion to Level Four.
Helpful Traits And Moods For The Civil Designer Career
Naturally, as a career focused on bettering the environment, the Green Fiend trait exclusive to Eco Lifestyle is a massive help for The Sims 4 Civil Designer career.
Both fairly active careers that require plenty of brainpower to get ahead, giving your Sim the Genius trait will help them gain skill in Logic that much quicker.
However, choose extra traits based on your intended career path, as the paths for the Civil Designer career have quite different requirements past Logic.
- Civic Planners seeking to go out and work with the community will do well with social traits, like Outgoing or Good.
- Green Technicians, however, will gain additional perks from the Maker trait, which emphasizes the use of the Fabricator and recycling overall.
In the tables below, we’ve broken down each level of the Civil Designer career for both the Civic Planner and Green Technician branches.
This includes their working hours, pay scale, daily tasks, and any requirements for promotions.
This is a fairly hands-on career, so be prepared for not only your Sims’ time investment in it, but your own!
